Sunday, April 5th, 2009Type I Civilization
For us to thrive as a species and continue our propulsion into the vast and endless future, we have some major changes to make.
Our failure to fully transform our current pattern from nonrenewable fossil fuels to renewable energy sources, will doom us to endless political and economic disasters that have already plagued us for hundreds of years.
A Type I Civilization is a planetary one, which has mastered most forms of planetary energy. A Type I energy output can be thousands and millions of times greater than our current output, which also has enough energy to modify the weather. It also could build cities beneath oceans and alter the occurrence of earthquakes and volcanoes. (No lie.)
Currently, we derive our energy not from harnessing global forces, but by burning fossil fuels (oil and coal). This qualifies us as a Type 0.72 civilization.
We are undoubtedly heading towards a Type I Civilization, but that doesn’t mean we’ll actually make it. The Internet is the beginning of a Type I telephone system. English will be the language of Type I. The European Union and NAFTA are the beginnings of a Type I economy, and we see the beginning of a planetary culture which exists in every nation of the world today. This is happening now.
We have the opportunity to live in a Type 1 civilization by spreading liberal democracy and free trade, in which the scientific and technological benefits will flourish.
The point is – there’s no fighting the globalization of the Earth’s people. In fact, it would be foolish not to embrace this. Of course I am not trying to offer up my service to a New World Order, but resisting the unification of the countries and people of the world will only slow us down even further. We need to embrace change and be a part of the change. The power should and will be in the hands of the people.
Where we’re headed: A completely global economy with free markets in which anyone can trade with anyone else without interference from states or governments. A planet where all states are democracies in which everyone has the franchise.
Beyond that, it gets even better – but for now, this is where we’re going. What we need to do is be aware of the changing powers in government; be aware of our new laws and become a part of the change itself. This is not about civil service, but power of the people, by the people and for the people of the world.
Any time there has been a significant change in life, there is resistance. Just look and see how upset we were when something as silly as Facebook changed. We get used to it. We end up liking it more, we adapt and conform. We can create an amazing world, if we open our eyes and minds and clearly voice our thoughts.
Science will transform the world.
